Best Liquids For Your Smoothie (Part 1)

Some people think that it’s really simple to make a smoothie. Well, it is but you still have to know a few things. Otherwise, you can easily make smoothie mixing mistakes. Knowing what ingredients to mix together is essential if you want your smoothie to be yummy and delicious!

One of the most important things when making a smoothie is picking out the right liquid. This is the first thing you should put in your smoothie and it should usually be from 1 to 2 cups.

But remember, the more liquid you add, runnier your smoothie will be. So if you prefer your smoothie thick, add a bit less liquid.

There are plenty of liquid options for your smoothie.

  • Water

Water is usually the best option to add to your smoothie if you are struggling with calories. Water has 0 calories and will not have an impact on your total calorie intake at all.

It matches well with all other ingredients you will add to your smoothie but it has two main flaws. Water doesn’t provide creaminess and has no flavor at all. So adding some additional ingredients is a must.

  • Coconut water

I use coconut water for smoothies a lot because I love how it tastes. Also, coconut water is rich in potassium and fiber, so adding it to your smoothie is always a winning combo!

  • Fresh juice

If you are looking for liquid to boost your flavor, freshly squeezed juice (orange, grapefruit, lemon, apple, etc.) is a perfect choice. You can add it to boost the flavor of your green smoothie and it provides plenty of vital vitamins and minerals for your body.
